About Me: I have never been overweight, never had to exercise. I was always one of those girls that had a great figure. After my son was born it was difficult to get the weight off, and it became even more difficult when my dad passed away in 2000, a month and a half after we moved to Florida. Trying to be strong for my family, I ate to ease the pain. Needless to say, I had gained a lot of weight. It took me two years to realize I needed to stop the pain somehow, some way. I remember seeing BFL on Montel. So in 2002, I started the program. After successfully completing my challenge in 2002, I started a second challenge, and started seeing more inner strength results in me that I had never seen before. I completed 3 challenges and was well on my way to a fourth. Then we ended up moving back to North Carolina in 2003. Well, you can say life got in the way, and with building a house, trying to find a job, kids sick all the time, getting the kids settled in their new schools, I half-heartedly did that challenge. Knowing what I was facing moving back here, I tried to remain strong. Without going into great detail, I faced physical and verbal abuse at the hands of individual all my life that was was supposed to love and protect me. Even though I had/have completed many challenges, I allowed the verbal abuse to come back into my life again and take control instead of me taking control. I could feel and see everything that I worked so hard for fall apart when the abuse started all over again, but I allowed it, and the emotional eating started all over again. That's when I realized I wasn't controlling the situation, it was controlling me. So I decided it was time to accept me for who I am and get it in gear and start another challenge. So on May 19, 2008, I started, and I started strong. I reread my BFL book over again, highlighted, took notes and decided enough was enough. My goal is to be as fit as I can be and complete 4 challenges this year. My goal is to be a CHAMPION and to be an example, a GOOD example. I've come back with a determination of not allowing anyone to ruin me or my family. I'm enjoying every bit of this challenge and am excited about the changes that I see in myself both inside and out. So here's to me and my life! Nothing, and I mean nothing will stop me from succeeding!!!!
