About Me: Three months ago started one of the luckiest days of my life. I walked into the gym and ran into a good friend of mine. While we were talking, Chris told me about Body Team Focus and the challenge. He explained the challenge to me and promised to help me start my new lifestyle.

I'm a 57 yr old male and just retired 2 years ago from 28 years as a law enforcement officer. During this time I incurred a large amount of stress and injuries. I spent a lot of time recovering from injuries over the years and it was difficult for me to exercise consistently. I found myself turning to comfort foods and social cocktails to deal with my stress.

I got to the point where I didn't even feel good anymore. My emotions were running in so many ways that it was hard to keep myself going without just giving up. During those years of service, I went through 26 surgeries from my neck down to the knees. I went through a blood clot that went to my lungs and another time staph infection.

Then in my first year of retirement I had both of my boys stationed in Baghdad for a year. I signed up to offer my services in Law Enforcement training in Iraq but I could not pass the physical. That was a tough blow.

When I started this great challenge, I made up my mind that I was going to complete it. I figured that if i told a lot of people there was no way I was going to quit. This challenge has changed my life.

My initial goal was fairly simple. I wanted to lose 22 pounds and get down to 200 lbs and also build more muscle.

I am very proud to say that I finished at 193.5 lbs and I am feeling great. after all of my knee surgeries I pretty much gave up running. This program has inspired me to run again. I am stating to train and my goals this time are to reduce my body fat even more and run the Bellin 10 K with my son.

I want to thank BTF and my friend Chris for giving me a new outlook on life and the confidence to know that if I put my mind to a goal and work at it that I can accomplish what I have set out to do.
